Poker Strategy: Should We Fold AK in This Big Straddled Pot

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

In this hand we make a big raise preflop with AK, flop and ace and bet the flop. We decided to check the turn to feign weakness but the caller gets worried when the villian makes a big bet.

  1. Exactly this is call all day unless you have a crazy read…as the hand developed it kept feeling like a chop but if you figure he has any AQ or Ax in his range it has to be shove to the raise

  2. Love these guys who want to talk over Bart. Really boring. Listen and learn yaker

  3. It's a tight fold, and a bit exploitable, but not as bad as people on here are saying. Sometimes you just know your opponent, and a bet this size simply means top-top or better, so you'd be calling for a low percentage chop. There's easier money to be made.

  4. The asian kid levelled himself hes used to being the agressor but when trying to take a check call line he cant handle it and thinks why did villain bet at me im so strong so villainmust be realky strong bevause he thinks villains know what he knows and what he has but They dont know what u have. U checked the turn villain knows u cbet and check the turn when you dont have bad. Villain is betting 3/4 of the pot because he is trusting the betting parttern read he has on you and he could be betting 3/4 of the pot with AQo AJo ATs. Hes betting 3/4 of the pot bevause he knows that you know if hes betting big on the turn that hes serious about this hand and he doesnt have AK no way. He could be betting big because its a BIGger pot then normal And hes nervous and trying to take it down right there because theres alot of money in the pot. Come on maaan how do u fold AK. How how how.

  5. This hand happen similar to me. I raise pre flop with AK on the button.
A opponent limps then call in middle position with 19% VPIP and very tight player who never bluff

Flop with an Ace Ten Five. Opponent out of position Lead out with Pot size.
after I call and a turn of a 9. opponent shove all in, an over bet.

I fold straightforward. but then he shows AQ.

I thought he got the two pair or sets.

  6. I don’t think this guys read is accurate – a10-aq seems much more likely. That or a bluff – your turn check looked weak – he tried taking advantage of that – why wouldn’t you call u have top top.
