Beating nits is a matter of adjusting your poker strategy so that you are losing less overall.

You do this by not paying off the nit players’ bets when they clearly have you beat.

It might feel like a huge fold at the moment to muck a middling flush on a 4-flush board, but if your opponent is betting huge (and you KNOW they are a super tight poker player) there is a big chance they have you beat!

Just fold!

This poker strategy adjustment results in you losing less vs tight players and in the long run helps your win rate in a huge way due to a poker concept called reciprocality.

Reciprocality is something I’ve explained before in a poker strategy video as well as in a poker short, but the basic idea is that if you and your opponent play the hand in the same way, nobody actually makes money in the long term.

How does that mean we should adjust our strategy? Check out this short, and the long video below for more!

  1. Phil stop giving out keys man. Lol like would you give me a spare key to your house. I doubt it. I'm kidding. Phil Galfonds YouTube from a year ago is crazy. I'm glad someone bet you to get more subscribers. Your videos are some of the best. Especially these short videos. Straight Fire

  2. Nits don't play QTo, what are you talking about? Their range is TT+, AJs+ and that's it. Sutied connectors? Forget it, they don't bother 😅

  3. Especially relevant during the WSOP Main Event with so many players desperate not to bust out (that guy folding KK for example).

  4. Basically, poker is a stupid game where you win mainly by not playing 90% of the time. If you only play 10% of hands, you are probably a winning player.
