Showtime Holdem on Pokerstars – Introduction

Texas Holdem Strategy Video Source & Information:

Showtime Holdem on Pokerstars is the 2nd mixed game after “Split Holdem” rotated out.

I’m going to continue uploading videos about these new formats as they are often a decent opportunity to make some easy money and building small stakes bankrolls.

This is an introduction video where I learn about the game mechanics in the first 30minutes of play. You will see more advanced videos later on about this format.

  1. 14:00 there is an ace and a king dead, thats why he didnt 3bet with AK i guess.

  2. I think this game is worse than Split HE in the long run but the fish in this game are really bad and the rake is better so I can't complain much for now

  3. rake is 9.9bb/100 (almost 10k hands) No difference really in game play from normal holdem, so the game kinda bad. Good to know when to not set mine or not chase two pair, when to fold some but not worth it for so much rake. Sometimes you can fold flush draw because many outs are gone. But not worth it for so much rake. Very expensive NL holdem really. Even with card removal I was caught 20 times…. he can't have it, I see 3 cards, one on board, two are folded, he doesn't have it! He does…

you were right though about new game coming this year…

    the red backround is horrible!

  4. Tried this on the first evening, it played, and ran into a huge bunch of fish. My main impression is, that seeing the dead cards dont really influence your decisions all that often. And I kind of dont like, that they made 5NL 40 BB buyin, 10 NL 50 BB buyin and so on. This takes some elements out of the game, which I kind of want to be there in a cash game.

What I do like is the idea to introduce something new, which can bring more recreational players into the game, who have become bored with the traditional tables and games. And I also like, that they have gotten rid of the old poker lobby and all the faff about table selection, going on waiting lists and so on and so forth.

I dont know, if they are testing these changes out with the idea to maybe introduce them to regular tables. But if that is the case, they I am pro the idea of just seating people at a random table to make the buyin process much easier and more appealing to recreational players. But I am against forcing people to play cap stack or half stack poker, until they as well as their opponent has dubbled up.

  5. Played against you in the plo 0.50/1.00 you really put a lot of work into your game and wish you the best of luck in your career. Keep releasing great content. 10/10 for calling D-negs a hypocrite.

  6. Really REALLYYYYYY hope PokerStars keeps this game. Its awsome !

  7. Besides being able to base your decisions based on the knowledge of dead cards, a big difference between this game and normal hold´em is also, that you get information, when someone fold. So especially if you play at the higher limits, these games should be a gold mine for note taking and really paying attention to the game, even when you are not in a hand. Because you will get a lot of free information about, just how easy people are to bluff. On the flip side of course you will also give other players the same information about you.
