This falls on the psychology side of poker. Poker players are human beings and they remain human beings not random poker faces at the poker table. Some people think players are impossible to read once they sit at a poker table, but that’s not the case.

Unless it’s someone who really knows what they’re doing, the average poker player is going to look at the card on the flop that hit their hand.

For example, if they have KT and the flop is K93, they’re going to give the majority of their attention to the K, even if it’s briefly.

What do you do when you see something you like? You focus on it a little more. It’s human nature. If a player briefly glances at the flop and looks away, they likely missed.

If they stare at the flop longer than usual, they either missed and they’re pretending they hit or they’re trying to figure out if they can make a hand.

This usually means they have a gut-shot, which is an inside straight draw.
If they stare you down when you’re trying to make a tough decision, they’re usually trying to intimidate you. These are spots you usually want to call.

However, I use the word ‘usually’ because there are savvy players out there that will send a reverse tell on this. If it’s someone who seems like they have spent a lot of time at a poker table, be careful. Otherwise, it’s a call.
