Remember to consider your poker adjustments from your point of view and your opponents point of view.

Like Phil said in today’s HS heads up poker clip, if you’re in ACTIONFREAK’s spot you need to be shoving this turn with a worse hand than trips or you are making it really easy for your opponent to play against you.

If you’re in Phil’s position it can be really annoying to make this fold but you have to remember that most opponents are not going to be able to execute this aggressive poker strategy with enough bluffs.

HU PLO, especially when played at high stakes, is going to be a very aggressive and variance filled game but until someone shows you a big bluff you need to proceed carefully.

It can be difficult to do but folding trips on a board like this vs this action might be the first step to building a poker bankroll!

If you’re building huge chip stacks already but still looking for how to improve at pot limit omaha, no limit hold ‘em, or poker in general, Phil Galfond is here to teach you how to think like a professional poker player.

  1. Can there be bet/3b bluffs with A9 combos without the spades? Since you never have AA, it might be important to block the 9 when bluffing because 99 and 95 are the best hands you call with. I’m not sure why the flush draw is necessary to bluff here, I guess.

  2. I don’t really agree with your comment that he is incentivized to go big with full houses on the turn. If he has a boat he has nothing to worry about so he goes small to leave your crappy Ax hands in and flush draws that would otherwise fold to 3/4 or pot. Thanks for the content though!
