  1. Too much info missing to give great advice. I try for 2 streets of value with a c-bet, turn check, river bet but this river f's that plan…

  2. wow you are playing so big game. okay imo i will bet the flop half pot to rep i have an 8 if he fold we are gd, if he call turn drop a flush i will bet bigger in turn if he call, river i will check , what card can he have here, if we bet river unless we prepare to bet fold, if we want to bring to show down its better to check . if you bet he decide to bluff and raise you , what can you do.

  3. Flop check is cool, disguises your hand and you can also pot control in the case you're against a boat. Turn bet is mandatory and he probably had A or K high so I would probably bet small on the river hoping to get hero called or bluff raised or maybe go full pot to polarize my range.

  4. That flop is exactly what you want for a c-bet semi bluff post flop. You have great re-draws for good value against over pairs, the villain might fold better aces, and if he/she gets to the river, you're (even) more likely to get checked to.

  5. When he check calls turn he is going to have a lot of A highs and small pairs that will probably call a river bet. Your hand is strong enough to value bet the river HU .

  6. Not related to this hand, but where do you guys recomend studying HU? playing mid stake MTTs

  7. Defaulting to a semi-bluff is not really a great move in my opinion. Heads up games play a bit differently than 6-max or full ring. I think because this board is so wet, our opponent will know we have a lot of semi-bluffs (and even some air) in our range if we bet, and not a lot of made hands.

I expect if we bet this spot, we are either (a) folding out hands like QJs which we beat, or (b) getting check raised a whole bad ton. We flatted pre, so it's not like our range has a ton of 99-AA, AK, or AQ. There's just a ton of bluffs and air in our range and not a lot of value.

  8. Anyway, on the river I expect we can looked up pretty light. For example, we could easily have A7 OFF and be attempting to fold a chop. Or we can have a high diamond with a missed flush, TJ with a missed straight. Yeah, we will have value in our hand like 76 that got there, or 8T that slow played the flop, but we are getting looked up a ton of the time. Particularly by TT+, which is a decent chunk of our opponent's range.

Even if we get C/R here I think we have to call unless it's an overbet.

  9. More I think about this the more I feel super confident villain's original plan was to have C/R the flop. 6 of diamonds is a super crappy card to lead out on, so he switches to check-call mode on the turn. And plans to check-call most bets on most rivers. So much of his range would fit this line. +Alec Torelli ?

  10. Cool point you noticed about how villain 3B your 4xRaise "without much thought". I've found that this is a polarizing move = villain is either super strong or super weak cuz if had any hands in between would have to think a second of how to max value/min losses. Add in the idea that it was a bigger 3B and my first impression is that villain is opening to steal the pot. However, weaker players sometimes tip off the strength of their hand by opening/raising larger than normal with premiums, so it's good to keep that in mind. Additionally, if a villain knows that you know all those things then sometimes they quickly overbet a premium to make it look fishy in order to get good value.

With that said, you beat all pocket pairs on the river except 9's, 8's, and 6's. You also beat All XY hands that don't contain an 8 or 6. Combine that with the idea that villain checked the Turn after you showed weakness by checking behind him on the flop = he is weak. Therefore, I like the check on flop and the bet on the turn when a seemingly harmless 6d hits. When he checks river I no longer think he can have a boat due to him checking turn after you checked flop but him calling the turn.

I ultimately think he had some AX or KX hand or any pocket pair or suited connector that missed since you're both around 100xBB starting stacks. Hard to narrow it down more from there but nice hand – gl – never give up.
